This chapter presents the methodologies that have been developed during the Bacchus project concerning the automatic detection and characterisation of vineyard plots in aerial images based on their structural properties, as well as the main results obtained in representative test areas of the project. They include a segmentation stage based on textural and shape criteria, followed by a more precise characterisation of the detected vineyard parcels.
